The Texas International Fishing Tournament, scheduled to be held in Port Isabel/South Padre Island, TX Aug. 1-5, 2012, is a 73 year old family fishing event and offers marketing opportunities that include corporate sponsorships, advertising in our official program book, and trophy sponsorships. • TIFT is the largest saltwater bay and offshore fishing tournament in Texas.
• TIFT has been ranked number seven in billfish tournaments in the world.
• TIFT is sanctioned by the IGFA World Offshore Championship Series and World Billfish Series.
• A total of 1,260 registrants participated in 2011. 
• A total of 420 boats participated.
• TIFT registrants have an average annual income in excess of $100,000 and spend more than $2 million in the local economy during our event—not including tournament expenses.
• According to our 1999 Economic Impact Survey, TIFT anglers fish more frequently than the national average; own more fishing rods and reels; and consider fishing with family and friends to be one of the highlights of our event.
• TIFT is a nonprofit 501 (c) 4 corporation and has established a permanent Scholarship Endowment Program. TIFT awards a minimum of eight $2,000 scholarships each year.
• TIFT is open to registrants of all ages.
