The 71st Texas International Fishing Tournament joins the exclusive list of only a few tournaments in the world sanctioned by the IGFA Offshore World Championship Series. The top offshore angler or Texas Grand Champion will be invited to the championship based upon his or her accumulated points total at TIFT. It is a unique opportunity for the top anglers to compete with the best fishermen in the world.

 

"We're extremely honored to have been sanctioned by the IGFA," says Tournament President Chuck Fultz. "The sanctions mean that TIFT has met all of the criteria for the prestigious organization and it is acknowledgement that our event is truly world class."

 

Included in the sanctioning package is TIFT exposure through the website of the organizations and promotion of the championship through key sport fishing magazines and television shows.

 

TIFT's top angler will be presented with special recognition from the IGFA during the awards ceremonies on Sunday. In addition, an invitation will be issued to participate in the in the IGFA Offshore World Championship in 2011.
